Amber & Lavender is a shared / unisex perfume by Jo Malone London. The scent was launched in 1995 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Jo Malone.

The designer tries to stick to a simple concept, however there’s more going on than the two note name alludes to. JM Amber and Lavender opens with an airy light lavender balanced by a touch of citrus flower and a spice. You sense the amber laying underneath. The heart of the fragrance is fully lavender, amber and a soft myrrh that keeps the fragrance on balance throughout.

For long-lasting effects fragrance should be applied to the body’s pulse points. These include the wrist, behind the ear, crease of your arm and knee, and the base of your throat. Pulse points give off more body heat as this is where blood vessels are closest to the skin, therefore continually warming and releasing your fragrance. Also, for a lasting effect spraying fragrance lower on the body allows it to rise throughout the day. Layering with the corresponding bath or shower gel and lotion, also is another good practice to help your fragrance last longer.

The fragrance is really delicate and these scents work actually in great harmony.

The warmth of the amber blends in perfectly to the skin and creates this sophisticated and aromatic flagrance. The lavender smell is fairly light but it brings that peaceful and calming feeling.
When wearing it I feel like I have just washed my body with a creamy and lightly musky soap. It has a fabulous “clean linen ” smell thanks to a subtle white flower undertone.
Amber and lavender has a hint of a masculine aroma but I would say it is more of a unisex perfume. Its amber and clove notes make it better suited for cold winter months.
If you like light floral or sweet fruity perfumes then you may not share the same enthusiasm as me but if you prefer warm and lingering flagrance then it may just be THE one for you.

A classy, wear anywhere fragrance.
